In the New Testament the leaders of local churches are called “elders”, “overseers”, or “pastors (or shepherd)” (1 Timothy 3:1–7, Titus 1:5–9). While it is one office, each term represents a different aspect of that office, as we see in 1 Peter 5:
So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you. (1 Peter 5:1–2)
Redeemer Al Ain is led by a group of pastors—both staff pastors and lay pastors—who seek to shepherd the church body.
